The meaning behind my blog name
Hi Friend,
Today I will write about the meaning behind my blog name may not be that interesting but in the wildest case you are curious here is the story behind it:
It was 2018 when I started to feel curiosity to start a blog and an Instagram account to share outfit inspo and essential oils, I was very stock when it came to thinking about the name I would like to have, I did not just want to use my name so I waited …the time went by until one day in the shower I remember my Tumblr blog name and I just thought it will be perfect. Does anybody still use Tumblr? side note I still do and love it.
“Hibiscus wanderlust” I don’t even know how I came around to choose that name in my Tumblr but something I can say is that Tumblr has always been the place where I felt the freest and always helped me get creative, I used to always change the title of my Tumblr blog like Cactus flower, Neon Moon, etc. then one day I randomly choose Hibiscus Wanderlust :D
I used to spend too much time on Tumblr back in college getting inspired by fashion then one day I stumble into a quote that said “ Have your dreams so big that they scare you” this was the phrase that hit me so hard I took the decision to quit school in the mainland in Mexico and go back to Cabo and try my luck chasing my dreams. deep down always knew my path was going to be different than ¨normal¨ college experience and all that… I felt very conflicted because my parents had expectations of my having a career.
In the beginning, it was very hard because I knew I was letting my parents down, my grandpa, and my family in general, I was full of fear and uncertainty. Quick note always trust yourself and go after your dreams, sure you won´t please everyone but at the end of the day is about to stay true to yourself.
Fast forward almost 9 years later that I took that decision it took me to the right place, I´ve been a business owner for almost 7 years and now starting this new blogging adventure. So funny how things circle back, Tumblr is the platform that inspired me to go after my dreams 9 years ago and now also inspired my blog name to finally start it.
I love that with blogging you can have a creative outlet because you can go into more details, content creation, express yourself and write more about the things you are passionate about, share your interest and hopefully inspire others and connect with people that have similar interest to you.
